Lindsey E. Sweet, Esq.
Anna Paciorek, Esq.

Anna Paciorek is one of the founding partners of Sweet & Paciorek, LLC.
A native of Warsaw, Poland, Anna Paciorek immigrated to the United States in 1988. A transplant to Philadelphia, she then graduated from Temple University with degrees in History, French, and Philosophy in 1998. In 2001, she received her L.L.M. in Transnational Law and J.D. from the James Beasley School of Law at Temple University. Anna has worked with the immigrant community in Philadelphia since her arrival in the United States and has been licensed as an attorney since 2004. Anna is admitted to practice in the state of New York and the Third Circuit Court of Appeals.
Before joining forces with Lindsey Sweet, Anna was employed as a staff attorney for over a decade at Nationalities Service Center (NSC), a Philadelphia nonprofit agency that services immigrants and refugees. During her time at NSC, Anna managed a case load of hundreds of asylum, removal defense, “crimmigration”, family based, Violence Against Women Act and citizenship cases, all while supervising generations of legal interns. She has worked directly with victims of torture through the Philadelphia Partnership for Resilience, a joint project between NSC and HIAS and has done extensive work with victims of domestic violence especially in the asylum context. She has also directly instructed students and interns both as an adjunct professor at Temple Law School and as the intern coordinator at NSC. Anna has served on the American Immigration Lawyers Association USCIS liaison committee Philadelphia Chapter for many years and currently serves as the Co-Chair of the Asylum Committee for the Philadelphia Chapter. She has given many trainings to the immigration and non-immigration bar on asylum, removal and family based matters.
Anna’s areas of expertise include asylum, removal defense litigation, and family based cases. Anna now manages the Philadelphia office of Sweet & Paciorek, LLC, where she leads the litigation arm of the firm and supervises the majority of student legal interns. Anna also volunteers as the Chair of the Host Committee for Global Tastes, NSC’s annual fundraising gala. She was named a 2018 Top Lawyer in Immigration Law by Main Line Today Magazine.
Lauren Vidal Amjed, Esq.

Lauren Vidal Amjed is an associate at Sweet & Paciorek, LLC. Lauren graduated from the Villanova University School of Law, cum laude, where she was the sole recipient of the Law Alumni Award for Pro Bono Service for the class of 2003. Lauren received her undergraduate degree, cum laude, from the University of Delaware. Lauren was admitted to practice in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania in 2003 after graduating law school and is a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association.
Out of law school, Lauren practiced corporate defense litigation for seven years with the firm of Gibbons, P.C. (f/k/a Hecker Brown Sherry and Johnson, LLP). She later completed Villanova Interdisciplinary Immigration Studies Training for Advocates (“VIISTA”) and re-entered the legal profession in the immigration sector, an area about which she has always been passionate.
Before joining Sweet & Paciorek, Lauren was part of a small team that organized and hosted immigration clinics throughout Philadelphia to help Haitian nationals apply for Temporary Protective Status. She has additional experience volunteering at non-profit organizations serving immigrant communities including Immigration Law and Justice of the Delaware Valley and Arise Immigration Services. Lauren has also contributed to organizations serving Philadelphia’s Hispanic youth. Specifically, she was a mentor to Latino youth with the Congreso program, Pasos Hacia Al Futuro, and developed a Boy Scout troop at Lewis Elkins Elementary School, a public school located in the Kensington neighborhood of Philadelphia with a high population of Latino youth. Lauren is bilingual in the English and Spanish languages.
As an associate at Sweet & Paciorek, Lauren brings experience as a practicing lawyer and litigator, ability evaluating immigration claims and defenses, and skill supporting her clients’ positions through written legal briefs and in-court representation.
Carlos Rodrigo Munoz, Esq.

Carlos Rodrigo Munoz is an associate at Sweet & Paciorek, LLC. Carlos has been an lawyer practicing exclusively immigration law since 2014.A native of Chile, Carlos is fully bilingual in the English and Spanish languages. He is excited to join the fantastic team at Sweet & Paciorek since January 2025. Carlos began his immigration law practice at Nationalities Service Center, in Philadelphia, PA, where he represented clients for 5 years in all manner of family immigration before USCIS and embassies and consulates around the world, including in complex waiver cases.
Carlos was also the inaugural Immigrant Justice Attorney and in that funded role provided free representation to indigent noncitizens detained at the York County Prison before the Immigration Court. This position allowed him to expand his practice into the area of crimmigration and complex issues facing persons in removal proceedings.
Following his time at NSC Carlos has successfully represented detained and nondetained immigrants before various immigration courts in Pennsylvania and New Jersey, and successfully in matters before the Board of Immigration Appeals (BIA), the Third Circuit Court of Appeals and the District Court for the District of New Jersey. He continued the practice of immigration law in the private sector where he served clients in USCIS and removal issues. Carlos’ areas of expertise include family petitions, removal cases and humanitarian forms of relief including asylum.
Sara Giraldo, Esq.

Sara Giraldo is an associate at Sweet & Paciorek, LLC. Born and raised in Bogota, Colombia, Sara immigrated to the United States in 2010. Sara is an Attorney at Law in Colombia currently working on obtaining her admission to practice law in the United States. Sara obtained a L.L.M for International Attorneys from the James Beasley School of Law at Temple University in 2023 and earned a master’s degree in Political Science from San Francisco State University in 2013. Before coming to the United States, Sara was a professor of Law and Ethics at El Politécnico Grancolombiano University in Bogota. She graduated from Political Science and Jurisprudence at El Rosario University in Bogota in 2006.
Sara comes to Sweet and Paciorek with over ten years of experience working in immigration law. She worked as a paralegal at HIAS Pennsylvania, a non-profit organization providing legal services to low-income immigrants and refugees in Pennsylvania, where she helped victims of domestic violence, sexual assault and sex trafficking applying for immigration relief such as U Visas, T Visas, Violence Against Women Act (VAWA) Self-Petitions, Special Immigrant Juvenile (SIJ) Status, Adjustment of Status and Employment Authorization Documents. Before that, Sara worked as a paralegal in Business Immigration with the Law Office of Michele Contreras, LLC., where she gained experience in employment-based visas, H2B visas, H2A visas and Adjustment of Status for employees.
Sara is a trauma-informed certified yoga instructor, teaching yoga in Spanish to adults and kids since 2018. She is also involved with the immigrant community in Philadelphia by writing grant applications and supporting grassroots organizations in the city like Madre Tierra Philly and Comadre Luna. Sara is fully bilingual in English and Spanish.
